The Story of Sweet Day
I grew up having a sweet day.
When my brother and I were little we lived in England. Every Saturday morning my parents would sleep in while we woke up early and went to my Mum's purse and each took out a pound coin. We would walk together to the local corner store where we would spend our money on sweets. In the 80s and early 90s you could get a lot of sweets for a pound! We would head back home with our loot and watch cartoons and eat sweets for breakfast.
Sweet Day was my favorite day.
We moved to America when I was seven and we were no longer within walking distance of a shop and sweet day fell away.
When I decided to start selling sweets, the delicious flavors of my youth sprung to mind. That's why you'll find lots of English sweets here. As I've grown, I've developed a taste for Swedish candy too.
Did you know that the Swedes have a sweet day too? This is Lördagsgodis (English: "Saturday sweets" or "Saturday candy") which is a Swedish tradition of children eating sweets on Saturdays.
Sweet Day perfectly blends together my English childhood with the Swedish tradition of sweets.
I import all of my sweets directly from England and Sweden, where my suppliers also source sweets from all over Europe. Head to the ingredients page to see which country in Europe each of my sweets are from.
Now I'm delighted to bring you these sweets that are the flavors of my childhood mixed with adult favorites. Sweet Day is based in Woodstock, NY and I'm a one person business!
Thank you so much for supporting my small business!! I'm so grateful you're here.
